The World Youth Days are approaching in leaps and bounds. Shortly the foreign pilgrims will arrive in Poland to share the meeting with the Holy Father Francis and their peers. To the Biała Podlaska region will come circa 300 people from five countries i.e. Belarus, France, Slovakia, Ukraine and Russia. For them and the residents a special programme has been prepared, in which everyone will find something for themselves.

The regional celebrations of the WYD are starting already on the 20th July. On that day Biała Podlaska will welcome the pilgrims, who will be assigned to particular families. The following days’ programme includes: the inauguration at the Sports Hall on Marusarza Street, the departure for Siedlce to attend the Gala of the Opening of the World Youth Days, a sightseeing tour about the Biała Podlaska region and also a Mystery of Christ’s Passion and festivities at Plac Wolności.

The programme also includes a trip to Kodeń and a huge Sunday event in the Radziwiłłs’ Park, where we shall listen to a concert of such bands as Porozumienie, Mate.O, and the Full Power spirit. Next on 25th July, the foreign pilgrims and the Polish youth leave for Kraków, to attend the celebrations of the World Youth Days.

Until recently the pilgrim’s kits have been ready. The kits will be given to the foreign guests and volunteers. Thanks to the mayor Dariusz Stefaniuk, other mayors and the starost’s the pilgrims and volunteers will get them for free. The kits contain: a T-shirt with the logo of the WYD, Jericho, coats of arms of the region’s communes, as well as a cap, and a pendrive. There is also a surprise pillow.
